EWGLA 2016 | EURO Working Group on Locational Analysis Meeting

The 23rd EURO Working Group on Locational Analysis meeting will be held in conjunction with the 7th International Workshop on Locational Analysis and Related Problems on September 14-16, 2016 at Malaga, Spain

The meeting intends to gather the operations research community from different parts of the world to share experiences in the field of locational analysis. We invite participation from all areas related to location theory including:

  • network location
  • continuous location
  • discrete location
  • obnoxious location
  • competitive location
  • hub location
  • location-routing
  • advanced location models
  • location applications (logistics, network design)
  • exact and heuristic solution methods

Contributions are welcome from academia, industry or the public sector. In addition to presentations, the meeting is intended to be a forum for exchange of recent experiences and results. Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit an abstract formatted according to the given templates. The submissions will be evaluated by a designated scientific committee. We also offer the possibility to present short communications or ongoing works in the form of poster sessions.

EWORAFM | EURO Working Group on Operations Research in Agriculture and Forest Management

The purpose of the workshop is to bring together researchers interested in optimization under uncertainty and applications in agriculture, sustainable supply chain and agrifood Industry. Other related areas connected with previous topics are also welcome.

Members of the foreabove mentioned Working Groups are invited to participate, but also we encourage the participation of other researchers, PhD students or professionals interested in this workshop. So that, further opportunities of collaboration and fruitful exchanges can be expected on a larger scale.

Proposals for panels or demo presentations in special sessions are very welcome.

Rückblick: OR 2015 in Wien

Vom 01.09. bis zum 04.09.2015 fand die Internationale Jahrestagung der Gesellschaft für Operations Research e. V. an der Universität Wien statt.

Die Tagung mit dem Motto „Optimal Decisions and Big Data“ war mit über 900 Teilnehmern außerordentlich gut besucht und wurde von Prof. Dr. Georg Pflug sowohl organisatorisch als auch inhaltlich hervorragend vorbereitet und durchgeführt.

Wie auch in den vorherigen Jahren bot die Konferenz reichlich Gelegenheit, qualitativ hochwertige Forschungsergebnisse in den verschiedenen Streams zu diskutieren sowie zahlreiche hochinteressante Plenar- und Semiplenarvorträge zu besuchen. Zudem wurden während der Tagung die Diplom- und Masterarbeits- sowie die Dissertationspreisträger geehrt und Herr Prof. Dr. Horst W. Hamacher mit dem GOR-Wissenschaftspreis ausgezeichnet.
