Rückblick: OR 2016 in Hamburg

Vom 30.08. bis zum 02.09.2016 fand die Internationale Jahrestagung der Gesellschaft für Operations Research e. V. an der Helmut-Schmidt-Universität/Universität der Bundeswehr Hamburg statt.

Die Tagung mit dem Motto „Analytical Decision Making“ war mit über 700 Teilnehmern sehr gut besucht und wurde von Prof. Dr. Andreas Fink sowie Prof. Dr. Martin J. Geiger sowohl organisatorisch als auch inhaltlich hervorragend vorbereitet und durchgeführt.

Wie auch in den vorherigen Jahren bot die Konferenz reichlich Gelegenheit, qualitativ hochwertige Forschungsergebnisse in den verschiedenen Streams zu diskutieren sowie zahlreiche hochinteressante Plenar- und Semiplenarvorträge zu besuchen. Zudem wurden während der Tagung die Diplom- und Masterarbeits- sowie die Dissertationspreisträger geehrt und die Deutsche Post DHL Group mit dem GOR-Unternehmenspreis ausgezeichnet.

MCDA 84 | EURO Working Group on Muliple Criteria Decision Aiding

The University of Vienna is very pleased to host the 84th Meeting of the EURO Working Group on Multiple Criteria Decision Aiding and extends a warm welcome to all the participants. The meeting will take place from September 22nd to 24th at the Faculty of Business, Economics and Statistics.
The overall topic of this meeting is From Axioms to Applications: Bridging the gap between theory and practice in MCDA. In accordance with this topic, we invite you to contribute papers that discuss new theoretical and methodological developments and their possible applications, as well as papers on practical applications of new methods, or applications that can stimulate new theoretical development.

In addition to the established methods and application areas of multiple criteria decision aid, we also look for papers exploring the relationship of MCDA to related areas like group decisions or decisions under risk and uncertainty, and papers that deal with the application of MCDA in new and innovative areas. Following the tradition of the working group, we particularly encourage to submit and present not only papers resulting from completed research projects, but also papers describing ongoing research and work in progress.

EWGLA 2016 | EURO Working Group on Locational Analysis Meeting

The 23rd EURO Working Group on Locational Analysis meeting will be held in conjunction with the 7th International Workshop on Locational Analysis and Related Problems on September 14-16, 2016 at Malaga, Spain

The meeting intends to gather the operations research community from different parts of the world to share experiences in the field of locational analysis. We invite participation from all areas related to location theory including:

  • network location
  • continuous location
  • discrete location
  • obnoxious location
  • competitive location
  • hub location
  • location-routing
  • advanced location models
  • location applications (logistics, network design)
  • exact and heuristic solution methods

Contributions are welcome from academia, industry or the public sector. In addition to presentations, the meeting is intended to be a forum for exchange of recent experiences and results. Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit an abstract formatted according to the given templates. The submissions will be evaluated by a designated scientific committee. We also offer the possibility to present short communications or ongoing works in the form of poster sessions.
