51st LNMB Conference on the Mathematics of Operations Research, Soesterberg (NL)

LNMB cordially invites you to the 51st LNMB Conference on the Mathematics of Operations Research, held at the Conference Hotel Kontakt der Kontinenten in Soesterberg, the Netherlands, on 12–14 January 2026.

Come and enjoy the presentations from leading researchers, who discuss significant advancements in Operations Research. LNMB is honoured to present an outstanding lineup of keynote speakers, an extensive programme of presentations by LNMB PhD students, and the joint LNMB/NGB Seminar.

Keynote and invited speakers

This year’s keynote addresses will be delivered by:

The third day of the LNMB conference, co-organised with NGB, will be devoted to the theme Generative AI and Operations Research. The programme brings together leading experts from academia and industry to explore how recent advances in AI are shaping the theory and practice of OR.

The confirmed speakers are:

  • Wouter Kool (ORTEC)
  • Madeleine Udell, Stanford University
  • Durk Kingma (Anthropic, co-founder of OpenAI)

In addition to these talks, the day will feature an interactive session/game and a networking lunch for PhD students with representatives from industry.

Verleihung der Young Researcher Awards 2025

Während der Jahrestagung ehrt die GOR herausragende Nachwuchsforschende mit dem Young Researchers Award für ihre außergewöhnlichen Beiträge zum Operations Research. Diese Auszeichnung unterstützt vielversprechende Talente in der Anfangsphase ihrer wissenschaftlichen Laufbahn. Als Nachweis ihrer wissenschaftlichen Exzellenz müssen Bewerbende eine Veröffentlichung in OR-Spectrum, Mathematical Methods of Operations Research oder einem EURO Journal vorlegen. Die Auszeichnung umfasst ein Preisgeld von 2.000 EUR. Darüber hinaus erhalten die Geehrten eine einjährige GOR-Mitgliedschaft sowie einen Zuschuss zu den Reisekosten für die Jahrestagung.

Das Auswahlgremium unter Beteiligung von Kathrin Klamroth, Karl-Heinz Küfer, Stefan Ruzika (Vorsitz), Anita Schöbel und Guido Voigt hat in diesem Jahr drei Wissenschaftler:innen für die Ehrung nominiert:

  • Dr. Ninja Scherr (Universität Wien)
  • Dr. Andrei Comăneci (Technische Universität Berlin)
  • Dr. Stefan Voigt (Katholische Universität Eichstätt-Ingolstadt)

Am 03. September 2025 wurden die Preisträger:innen im Rahmen der Eröffnungsveranstaltung der GOR-Jahrestagung in Bielefeld verkündet und geehrt. In einer eigens organisierten Preisträger-Session präsentierten die Ausgezeichneten ihre Forschungsarbeiten vor interessiertem Publikum.

Die GOR bedankt sich beim Fraunhofer ITWM für die kontinuierliche und weiterhin zugesagte Förderung dieser Auszeichnung durch die Finanzierung der Preisgelder. Auch im nächsten Jahr wird diese renommierte Auszeichnung wieder vergeben. Die GOR ermutigt alle geeigneten Nachwuchswissenschaftler:innen, sich für diese Ehrung zu bewerben.

Workshop „Recent Advances in Multi-Objective Optimization“ (RAMOO), Straubing

The next edition of the workshop „Recent Advances in Multi-Objective Optimization“ (RAMOO) will take place at the Straubing Campus of the Technical University of Munich on 11 and 12 September 2025. The workshop focuses on latest advances in exact methods in multi-objective (mixed) integer optimization. Topics of interest include (but are not limited to):

  • Multi-objective discrete/combinatorial problems
  • Multi-objective mixed integer (non)-linear problems
  • Multi-objective continuous non-linear problems
  • Multi-objective branch-and-bound algorithms
  • Multi-objective branch-and-cut algorithms
  • Column generation and branch-and-price algorithms
  • Objective space algorithms
  • Stochastic multi-objective optimization
  • Robust multi-objective optimization
  • Complexity analysis of multi-objective optimization algorithms
  • Parallelization of exact algorithms in multi-objective optimisation
  • Approximation and representation algorithms for multi-objective optimization

The workshop will start in the morning of Thursday, 11 September, and end around lunchtime on Friday, 12 September. For those traveling from further away, it is thus advisable to arrive already on Wednesday, 10 September. The two keynote talks will be given by Sophie Parragh (Johannes Kepler University Linz) and Oliver Stein (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology).
